Professor Dan and Linda Hinchliffe, wanted to semi-retire in WNC from Florida. They bought a lot in Reems Creek Villages in Weaverville. They were very involved with the design of their new home and wanted a separate apartment in the lower level for college students to live there. They also needed room for guests and wanted extra living quarters for them. They also wanted their 5,400 square foot house to look more like a cottage than a huge mansion. Through the use of e-mails and faxes, etc. they only had to visit the site twice during the construction process.
